Deb joined Cox Media Group in 2014 as the News Technology Manager for KIRO 7 in Seattle and was promoted to her current role as Director of News Technology in August of 2017. She is responsible for providing the advancement, leadership, process optimization, and strategic direction of the technical operations for the newsroom and the CMG station group. She also was instrumental in launching KIRO 7 as the first TV station in the nation on Amazon’s Alexa platform for both audio and video and will be accepting the 2018 TVNewsCheck’s Technology Women to Watch award at NAB.
Guillaume has spent the past decade melding the latest in technological innovation with the century-old tradition of filmmaking. He has kept DigitalFilm Tree (DFT) at the forefront of innovation in Hollywood, as highlighted by DFT’s recognition in 2014 by the Hollywood Post Alliance for the innovative implementation of OpenStack software in cloud-based workflows on recent hit television shows UnREAL and long-running series like NCIS: Los Angeles.

Michael is an audiovisual artist, sound designer, editor and technical specialist with a wide range of professional experience in cinema and the sonic and visual arts. He has worked with the European Broadcasting Union on 6 Olympic Games and 2 World Alpine Ski Championships. His sound design has featured in Universal Ear, the serial sci-fi adventure from L’Institute Zoom and in One Day Film’s award-winning release The Raven on the Jetty.

Jake is the Facilities & Technology Editor on the UK’s leading TV trade publication, Broadcast magazine. He also edits the quarterly Broadcast TECH magazine, which covers the creative application of technology in television production and post-production. He has been a journalist in the TV industry for over a decade, having previously worked for Televisual magazine and TV production company Endemol, where he edited the websites of programmes including Big Brother. Outside of journalism, Bickerton is an experienced Media Composer editor with a long list of corporate films credits for clients such as Samsung and Sony. He also composes and produces music and has been played on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music.

Tom’s role as Director of Engineering & Operations for the Meredith Local Media Group has given him the opportunity to drive many of the group’s technical initiatives when it comes to the news evolution. Starting as Director of Engineering at CBS affiliate KCTV he managed the transition from tape to non-linear editing and playback in the Avid LANShare/Pluto era. In 2010 Tom was moved to Meredith’s Atlanta-based facility to manage centralized master control and playout operations. Tom is currently engaged in a project to virtualize existing Avid environments across Meredith’s Local Media Group.

Mathew is a digital media security specialist working with the leading TV and films studios. He is a co-founder of Fortium Technologies and as CEO has led the company to be market leader in creating unique security products that help protect TV and film studios in the sensitive and complex stages of pre-release. With 25 years’ experience in the media and entertainment sector he has built up strong relationships within the industry working closely with the Technical Operations, Anti-Piracy and Post-Production teams at NBC Universal, Disney, Sony Pictures, Lionsgate, AMC Networks, Film Nation and Warner Brothers. As such he had developed wide experience in cyber security and piracy crises. Benedict brings a deep experience in VR audio from state-of-the-art location recording to cinematic and game orientated post-production.
Kathy has covered the TV business for almost 30 years for a variety of publications and as owner of Kathy Haley & Associates, a company that provides custom publishing services. Kathy got her start at Broadcasting, where she was congressional correspondent and New York bureau chief. Kathy was also editor of View, the NATPE Programmer and Cablevision magazine.
Re-Recording Mixer & Sound Editor
Formosa Group re-recording mixer and sound editor Tim has over 20 years of experience in audio post for music, features and documentaries, television and home entertainment formats. He had stints at Prince’s Paisley Park Studios and POP Sound before joining Formosa.
Edie has edited live action, documentary and animation. Her first animation project was as associate editor on The Nightmare Before Christmas before moving on to edit the stop motion ABC television series, Bump in the Night. Her editing on The Boxtrolls at Laika earned her an ACE Eddie nomination for best edited animated feature.
Upon graduating AFI with his MFA in Editing, Scott has had the pleasure of assisting and editing on a multitude of projects. Some of his credits include NBC’s Parks and Recreation, FX’s The League, CBS’ Person of Interest, The Bourne Legacy, and Despicable Me 3. He’s also currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Motion Picture Editor’s Guild. Darryl oversees the Post Production and Asset Management teams, which focus on development and execution of automated file-based ingest, production transcode, long-term archive, and remote delivery. In addition, Darryl is responsible for transitioning the NBC Sports film/tape archive to a wholly file-based system.
A fourteen-time Emmy Award winner, Darryl oversaw the Highlights Factory/Asset Management System from conception through implementation at all Olympic Games between the 2008 Beijing Games through the 2018 Pyeongchang Games. Lawrence is a veteran feature film and television editor who has worked with many of the world’s largest entertainment companies, including Time Warner, Sony, Fox, MGM, HBO, Netflix and Disney. He has supervised creative aspects of the post-production process on over 45 feature films and television shows with budgets ranging from 1 million to upwards of 80 million dollars. He recently completed his latest feature film, Naked, starring Marlon Wayans and Regina Hall, for Netflix.

Matt Lange is a GRAMMY-nominated artist and producer. He is currently midway through his third album, which will be released through his own label, isorhythm.
Darren has been a key player in the conception and development of the UK’s first sustainable broadcast facility, Sky Studios. As Director of Sky Production Services (SPS) Darren oversees 10 production studios, over 77 post production suites and one of the biggest integrated tapeless systems in the world running all of Sky’s linear, online and OTT playout. Darren is responsible for setting a clear vision for the department and providing leadership to everyone in SPS - ensuring that the department really does ‘Believe in Better’.
After graduating from Brunel University, Darren spent seven years working at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) teaching students in television production and helping to run the NFTS TV department, working with many talented students including Nick Park (Wallace and Gromit), David Tattersall (Die Another Day, Star Wars (Episodes I, II and III) and Michael Caton-Jones (Memphis Belle, This Boy’s Life).
After leaving NFTS, Darren spent a year working in the TV industry as a vision engineer before joining Sky Plc at the birth of the company back in 1989. He was one of the pioneers of changing the way the world watches sport, overseeing the technical operational developments and innovations across Sky Sports – from simple ultra-motion replay, HD and 3D, through to today’s interactive and digital developments that now appear in most sports broadcasts.

Varun's spent over a decade in the audio industry and has worked on hundreds of projects across television, film, games and interactivity. Akshay is a Video Technologist with 10 years of R&D and product management experience across video codecs/encoding/quality, Cloud Technologies, IP video delivery, content management (CMS), post-production and Quality Control in various multimedia and streaming applications.
Currently he is working on optimizing LIVE Sports video streaming & ad-tech applications, and API integration supporting Live and Video-on-Demand (VOD) CMS/Distribution workflows at the Digital Group of the National Football League (NFL).

Benji is a British-born, New York-based entrepreneur, technologist, musician, and the CEO and co-founder of the dotBlockchain Media Project, working to revolutionize the commercialization and movement of music in the digital economy. James was most recently the Lead Editor on DreamWorks Animation’s The Boss Baby (2017). After graduating from the University of Southern California School of the Cinematic Arts, James first got his start at DreamWorks Animation in 1996 as an Apprentice Editor on The Prince of Egypt (1998). Jeremy Smith studied IT and VFX in Canada and is responsible for all technical management of Jellyfish Pictures (VFX) and Jellyfish Animation studios. Over the past ten years he has witnessed Jellyfish’s growth from an eight-man team to a facility that houses over 200 members of staff across 4 locations. He has overseen and managed several company expansions to different premises and has re-imagined the production pipeline using a hybrid of cloud-based and desktop-based technologies. He has become one of the most respected CTOs in the VFX industry always pushing technology to the absolute limit, helping to make Jellyfish one of the most advanced technical VFX facilities in the world. Through relationships built with leading players at companies such as Microsoft Azure, Teradici, Pixit Media, AMD and many others he has helped keep Jellyfish at the vanguard of what is possible, which always provides the company with a competitive edge.

Jonathan joined Aspera in late 2014 with more than 20 years' system design, administration, and project management experience in Media and Entertainment. Career highlights include the key architect of the WWE OTT Network, dark fiber network design and project design and management for several multi-million-dollar broadcast facilities. Prior to his role at Aspera, he was a Senior Engineering Project Manager at WWE, Inc, Director of Engineering for Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, and spent more than a decade as an Engineer-In-Charge, supporting remote television broadcasts. His travels as an EIC covered 45 of the 50 United States.
Product Architect & Designer, DreamColor
Greg works directly with major visual effects houses, animation studios, photographers and design studios around the world to ensure that HP DreamColor displays include features and capabilities designed specifically to enhance their workflows and simplify their deployment and management. (Greg has noted that he can point to each special feature in the Z27x and Z31x and indicate which customer requested it). Prior to joining HP, Greg was the Principal Product Designer at Avid, Inc. where he drove the design of the Symphony and Media Composer digital video editing systems. He has consulted with major studios on post-production workflows and has worked as both a colorist and finishing editor.
Founder of WheresMyMedia, William is a technologist on the forefront of developing VR applications that optimize VR/AR and 360 video production workflows. Recently a recipient of an NAB Pilot Challenge Innovation Award, he has founded several live and post production technology startups. William is using this experience to lead the way leveraging WebVR to enable, simplify and optimize VR/AR and 360 video workflows from anywhere, on any device.
Josh is a principal analyst with Devoncroft Partners, a provider of market research and strategic consulting services to a wide range of digital media clients and institutional investors. Prior to joining Devoncroft, Josh was a managing director at Silverwood Partners in the firm’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications group. While at Silverwood, he executed a range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, valuations, and private placements. Josh has also held various positions at EMC Corporation, including as a software programmer and later as an analyst on integration teams for EMC's acquisitions of Documentum, Legato, and VMWare.

Rahul currently leads the Precision Workstation Business Unit at Dell. As a part of this role, Rahul is responsible for Product Planning, Business Strategy and Leadership of workstation products. He was hired, as the engineering leader for Precision products, from AMD in January, 2013. At AMD, Rahul held several diverse leadership roles including the head of Server Engineering, Global Customer Support and Corporate Quality. He holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. Rahul is a product geek at heart and enjoys bringing innovative technology solutions to market.

Producer, mixer & songwriter, Co-Founder & CIO of SKIO Music
Jordan Young, known to many as DJ Swivel, is a Toronto-born, GRAMMY-winning producer, mixer and songwriter. He began his musical career in 2005 in New York City, under the mentorship of Duro, a well-established mixer, producer and CEO of Desert Storm Records (Fabolous, DJ Clue). With Duro's tutelage, Swivel began working with a wide variety of artists including Jay-Z, Diddy, Pharrell, Britney Spears, and Fabolous, eventually recording and mixing the latters albums ‘From Nothin To Something’, and ‘Loso’s Way’.
In 2010, Swivel went on to work with Beyoncé, recording and mixing her album ‘4’, which won a GRAMMY in 2012 for Best Traditional R&B Performance for the song ‘Love On Top’, and worked on part of her follow-up self-titled album, Beyoncé. In 2014 he founded Headliner Magazine, a music-driven publication, and shortly thereafter SKIO Music, a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of music content enabling legal remixing at scale by simplifying the licensing process and making deals more transparent.
In 2015 he began working with The Chainsmokers, first as a mixer on the Roses EP, followed by mixing and production work on their follow-up EP titled Collage. Collage spawned the hits ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ for which he won a Grammy for 2017’s Best Dance Recording, and Closer, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 weeks and broke countless records along the way.
